Mercedes-Benz has built the most extreme Black Series model ever. It is based on the Concept AMG GT Track Sport that was showcased last year.
The new AMG Black Series is essentially a road-legal GT3 car. In fact, it was developed alongside the new Mercedes-AMG GT3. Mercedes says that the name “Track Sport” was chosen deliberately as a bridge between the “uncompromising track performance of the Mercedes‑AMG GT3 and the extreme yet road-legal performance that has always characterised the Black Series models”.
The new AMG GT Black Series will be based on the second-generation AMG GT coupe. It will feature several performance upgrades, including a bespoke high downforce package that looks just as extreme as the GT3 car.
The Black Series features a massive swan-neck rear wing and a prominent front splitter. It will also get a more aggressive-looking front fascia and a vented hood, among other modifications.
Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that the model will be powered by the same V8 engine which also powers the brand’s GT Series racecars. That being said, the exact technical specs are still unclear.
